How to apply for Learners Licence in India?

You'll surely feel that entire blog doesn't make sense as there are agents who do such work for you. Sure. But for the individuals who do not like investing money for things which can be done at your ease, you have reached the correct website.

Step 1
Visit https://parivahan.gov.in/sarathiservice10/stateSelection.do and select your state.



Step 2
You'll be redirected to the site, and there you will get a box saying apply. Click on the apply button and a menu will be dragged. Select the first option. (Apply for New Learners Licence)



Step 3
Click on continue and you'll be redirected to the application site. Fill all the details carefully and then select the class of vehicles that you would want to apply for.






Step 4
Click on Submit, and you'll receive an 'Acknowledgement'  with 2 buttons.
Click on both the buttons one after the other and make sure to download and print both the documents.
You will get "Form" named document in your downloads which you have to take a print and fill the details, attach photograph and sign.



Step 5
After clicking on Next, you will be asked to do the next step which is uploading documents. Click on proceed to submit the documents.
The document needed are:
Age Proof (Birth certificate/ Passport/Voter Id/LIC policy)
Address Proof (AADHAR/ Passport/Voter Id/LIC policy)
Form(1)   (Which is downloaded in Step 4, You have to ONLY print page 3 from that pdf, sign and fill the information needed. Then Scan the filled page 3  and post it)
Add all 3 documents one by one and then click next.




Step 6
After clicking next, Click on LL SLOT BOOK, and select a date that is comfortable for you. You can select the time period too. Your appointment will be fixed. PRINT the appointment as it will be needed later.
NOTE: Slot can be booked only during 10am - 6pm



Step 7
After clicking next, click on the fourth option that is payment of fees. You have to type your application number, then the DOB and calculate the fees. You can make the payment through Credit/ Debit card, Net banking, Wallets too.


Documents to carry to the RTO OFFICE:
Arrange in the same order.
1) Slot appointment print
2) Fee Receipt
3) Form(1)- 5 pages, filled with details and with photographs.
4) The Age proof- photocopy
5) The Address proof-photocopy

Procedure
You have to visit the RTO office once you have received the appointment for the slot. You have to carry the documents in the order mentioned above. You'll have to stand in a line where the authority called "Data Office" will click your picture for the LL and will take your signature.
Then, you'll be redirected to the exam center where you will have to apply for the exam on the computer provided there.
There are 15 questions out of which you have to get more than 9 marks to be eligible. You get 30 seconds to answer one question.
The questions asked are about road rules, traffic rules, signs and their meanings.

The results are declared on the spot and if you have passed the test you'll get your Learning license on the spot.
The learning license will have a validity for 6 months and you can apply for a permanent driving license after 1 month.
